Student Summer Jobs in Canada

The Canada Summer Jobs initiative, part of the Summer Work Experience program, provides funding to help non-profit organizations, public sector employers and small businesses with 50 or fewer employees to create jobs for been of great quality for students 15 to 30 years.

Canada Summer Jobs has three objectives:

offer work experience to students;

help various organizations, including those that provide important community services;
recognize that local, community needs and priorities vary greatly from one community to another.
Canada Summer Jobs is designed to encourage non-profit organizations, public sector employers and small businesses with 50 or fewer employees to create jobs that meet their needs and will benefit students looking to gain experience work.

Applicants will be informed of the status of their application in May 2009.

The following criteria used to assess applications for funding:

provide services to the community;
provide jobs that support local priorities;
provide jobs that allow students to gain experience focused on their careers or take a first job;
offer a salary that contributes to the income of students hired;
supervision and supervision by the employer;
allow to carry out activities for members of official language minority communities and supporting the vitality of these communities;
give priority to the hiring of certain groups of students (students with disabilities, Aboriginal students and students from visible minorities).
Deadline
Employers could apply through Canada Summer Jobs 2009 from 2 to 27 February 2009. Applications received after that date or the postmark bears a later date will not be evaluated.
