This it is the case of office (8.9%), warehouse (56.3%), education (26.6%), hospital (9.2%) and social (81.3%), that in January-November of 2008 exhibited an important increase in the area approved for construction.

More attractive regions for the investment

“Although the national total the area licensed for construction presented/displayed a significant reduction in 2008, it is worth the pain to clarify that in some regions of the country the dynamics of the approved area continues being positive”, says Beatriz Uribe. So it is the case of the departments of Tolima (37.3%), Santander (33.9%), Nariño (33.9%) and North of Santander (21.2%), whose licensed total area grew to annual rates over the national average for the period January-November of 2008.

Additional to the data of licenses, another indicator that it gives signals of future edificadora activity in the regions are the macroprojects. In 2009 and 2010 they are planned to develop such instruments in the cities of Cartagena, Medellín, Good luck, Cali, Neiva, Manizales, Soacha, Bucaramanga and Barranquilla. Thus the things, Camacol hopes that these macroprojects invigorate the edificador sector not only in these cities, but also in all the national territory.
