“Although the numbers of growth of the construction licenses do not seem encouraging, the perspective for the construction of house are positive”, assures Beatriz Uribe Wineskin maker, President Ejecutivo of the Colombian camera of the construction, Camacol. According to data of Camacol, in this year they will be reversed to $11,6 trillions in the sector house, $1.1 trillions will be resources public and $10.5 trillions will come from private organizations. Destinies of the construction, the most affected and strongest

According to data of Camacol, while year 2007 was characterized by the high level of licensing, 19.2 million squared meters, however for the 2008 a reduction of the annual one appeared of -9,9%.
This result to the loss mainly must to the diminution of the licenses for the destiny house, that represents 71.4% of the total of area licensed in the country: in January-November of 2008 the area approved for the construction of house was reduced at the rate of -11,3% annual one, emphasized Beatriz Uribe.
Additional to this, other destinies of construction also present/display negative rates of variation in equal lapse, that is to say, industry (- 23.1%), commerce (- 22.7%), hotel (- 27.7%), public administration (- 30.4%) and monk (- 13.9%).

This it is the case of office (8.9%), warehouse (56.3%), education (26.6%), hospital (9.2%) and social (81.3%), that in January-November of 2008 exhibited an important increase in the area approved for construction.
More attractive regions for the investment
“Although the national total the area licensed for construction presented/displayed a significant reduction in 2008, it is worth the pain to clarify that in some regions of the country the dynamics of the approved area continues being positive”, says Beatriz Uribe. So it is the case of the departments of Tolima (37.3%), Santander (33.9%), Nariño (33.9%) and North of Santander (21.2%), whose licensed total area grew to annual rates over the national average for the period January-November of 2008.
Additional to the data of licenses, another indicator that it gives signals of future edificadora activity in the regions are the macroprojects. In 2009 and 2010 they are planned to develop such instruments in the cities of Cartagena, Medellín, Good luck, Cali, Neiva, Manizales, Soacha, Bucaramanga and Barranquilla. Thus the things, Camacol hopes that these macroprojects invigorate the edificador sector not only in these cities, but also in all the national territory.
