Mexico reinjects a billion dollar to support the peso



The Central bank of Mexico reinjected Thursday a millard dollars on its foreign exchange market, in addition to the 400 million envisaged each day, an “extraordinary” measurement aiming at supporting the Mexican foreign exchange market, announced the monetary authority

The Central bank reinjected this amount at the balanced rate of 13,18 pesos for a dollar, it specified in an official statement.

Banxico placed more than 11 billion dollars on the foreign exchange market as one its emergency measures in order to stabilize the peso whose fall has continued for several days.


The Mexican peso finished Wednesday with 13,74 for a dollar, its low historical, and in the first operations Thursday it was negotiated to 13,88.( Finance Information City )
