Judicial enquiry into the loss of the Savings banks

The Parquet floor of Paris announced the opening of an preliminary investigation on the loss of trading of 751 million euros undergone by the Savings banks.

It makes following the complaint against X for “breach of trust” deposited Friday by the National bank of the precaution and savings banks.

“It is on the basis of this complaint that we opened an preliminary investigation. The investigation in progress, is entrusted to the financial brigade”, indicated at Reuters the office of the prosecutor. ( Finance Information City )

“One seeks to know which is the mechanism of this fraud and the possible criminal responsibilities”, of the same source was specified.

The Savings banks announced on October 17 a loss of 600 million euros related to “an important incident of market”.

These revelations had involved two days later the resignation of three of the principal leaders of the bank, of which its president Charles Milhaud and his managing director Nicolas Mérindol.

A spokesperson of the Cases indicated that the loss was ascribable with a “small team of management on own account from five to six people, who all were sanctioned”.

The Minister for the Economy, Christine Lagarde, evoked last Friday of “serious gaps in the control systems” of the group, which are the subject of an investigation of the Bank charge, the organization of supervision of the French banks.
