The inflation confirmed at 3.6% in September in the euro area



Inflation slowed to 3.6% in September in the euro area compared to August due to the slowdown in price increases of energy and food, Eurostat confirmed Wednesday.
In August, inflation was 3.8%.
On a month, consumer prices of the 15 euro zone countries rose 0.2%, while economists were expecting 0.1%.
Energy prices jumped 13.5% year on year in September, against an increase of 14.6% in August and 17.1% in July.
The price of alcohol, tobacco and food rose by 5.2% in September had increased by 5.6% in August.
Core inflation excluding volatile items slowed to 2.5% year on year, against 2.6% in August.( Finance Information City )
